Dr. Benigno studied Gynecologic Oncology at Emory University and M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. He has been a Board Certified Gynecologic Oncologist since 1979. Dr. Benigno held teaching positions at Emory for eight years and started the SEGO practice in 1982. He is currently the Director of Gynecologic Oncology for Northside Hospital and is the Medical Director for the SEGO Research Group. Most recently he founded the Ovarian Cancer Institute dedicated to the early detection and community awareness of ovarian cancer. Dr. Benigno sees patients at our Northside location.

Dr. Burrell is a native of Winnipeg, Canada. He studied Gynecologic Oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center & Tumor Institute in Houston and Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital here in Atlanta. He became a Board Certified Gynecologic Oncologist in 1983. Dr. Burrell is an active member of the Felix Rutledge Society, named for the founding father of gynecologic oncology. He participates on the board of the Wellness Center. Dr. Burrell sees patients at our Piedmont, Northside and Gwinnett locations.

Dr. Feuer began practicing medicine as a Board Certified Gynecologic Oncologist at Women’s and Infants Hospital in 1990 and as Assistant Professor at Brown University. A native New Yorker, he moved to Atlanta when he joined SEGO in 1992. Dr. Feuer participates in the Kennestone Hospital Cancer Committee and the Northside Hospital Gynecology, Women’s Care, and Acute Care Committees. He continues to teach through our fellowship program. Dr. Feuer sees patients at our Kennestone and Northside locations. He also serves as our Managing Partner.

Dr. Hines received his initial medical training at Brown University Medical School. He spent 15 years practicing medicine for the U.S. Army and was a brigade surgeon during Desert Storm. He received his training in Gynecologic Oncology at Georgetown University and has been practicing the specialty since 1995. He was the Assistant Chief, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Brook Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Hines has a special interest in research and is a National Cancer Institute Investigator. He joined SEGO in 2000. Dr. Hines sees patients at our Southern Regional and Kennestone locations.

Dr. Boveri completed his training in Gynecologic Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He has been practicing Gynecologic Oncology in Atlanta since 1994. He has served as Assistant Professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University School of Medicine and continues to serve as Associate Professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Medical College of Georgia. He serves as Chief of Gynecology at Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta and Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Atlanta Medical Center.

Dr. Salmieri is board certified in OB/GYN and completed a fellowship for advanced pelvic surgery at The Cleveland Clinic. He completed his Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship with SEGO and Northside Hospital and is board eligible for certification in gynecologic oncology. Dr. Salmieri heads the Familial Ovarian Cancer Screening Program at SEGO. Prior to coming to Georgia in 2000, he was Assistant Professor of OB/GYN at The State University of New York, Stony Brook and was in private practice in New York. Dr. Salmieri sees patients at SEGO’s Gwinnett and Johns Creek offices.

Dr. Yap received her medical training at Stanford University and the University of California at San Francisco. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Yap has special interest in gynecologic cancer research.
